4BIZ Innovation Challenge 2024 – Competition of Innovative Projects, Business Ideas & Startup Ideas in the Field of Aquaculture and Fisheries in the Black Sea Region

On the occasion of the European Maritime Day 2024, the 4BIZ Consortium Partners shall organize, in collaboration with different BSUN member universities, a dedicated event. The event that shall be organized in Constanta, Romania aims to put in forefront the problem of developing the entrepreneurial dimension of the students to emphasize the need for development of skills and the abilities in the field of aquaculture and fisheries in
the Black Sea Region.
The event from Constanta shall be organized in cooperation with “Ovidius” University of Constanta.
The event shall be addressed to the students from BSUN member universities, but also to the students from other universities.
The topic of the event is dedicated to the field of aquaculture and fisheries, green transition approaches in this field, protection of marine habitats related to exploitation of fish and sea food resources, aquaculture and
mariculture, use of satellite data for monitoring prevention and management of environmental issues related to anthropogenic activities in marine ecosystems, marine biology and genetics applied to the needs of the sector, logistic and technology aspects, renewable energy sources and other topics related to the needs of sector by eco innovative solutions.
Concept
The event consists on the following components: a plenary session which will introduce the current status of entrepreneurship in the aquaculture and fisheries sector, a session of posters with innovative business proposals and ideas of startups, a competition of business ideas in the front of a panel of evaluators and a Workshop on ”Advanced Technologies and Business Models for Boosting Businesses in the Field of Sustainable Aquaculture and Fisheries in the Black Sea Region”.
Aim
The event is aiming to enhance the entrepreneurial and innovative potential of the young generation based on education and scientific research in the field of sustainable aquaculture and fisheries. The attendance of such a competition has the benefit for the young potential entrepreneurs to get acquainted on future challenges and activities in order to facilitate the initiation of successful startups.
